I find the results of this study interesting, where employers find employees, only because in college, they stress career/job fairs.

I've always hated career fairs, myself, because it seems like a cattle round up. Not only that, as a potential employee, you don't know much about what the company is looking for; it's kind of a toss up. With that said, I've had good success with online job boards and I've only applied for jobs or internships where I fit the criteria.
Here are the top ten places where hiring managers find employees:Online Job Boards: 51%
Local Newspapers: 47%
Referrals: 40%
Company Web site: 37%
Monster.com: 23%
Staffing or Recruiting Firm: 22%
Careerbuilder.com: 19%
Associations: 19%
Job Fairs: 18%
State/Federal Employment: 16%
